Today’s run was great! I felt really good, it’s amazing what sleeping and eating well will do for a run. I looked up how much time it should take to run the 8.5 miles at an 11:45 min. pace and figured out that it was supposed to be 1 hour and 40 minutes. Today’s route, took us from TXDot, to Riverside, to Congress Avenue, and we headed north on congress all the up to 11th street. At 11th street, we hung a right, to Trinity, where we turned left and headed north all the way up to MLK. At MLK, we turned right and headed up the hill to Red River, where we turned left and continued north. We went all the way to Hancock Center until we were parallel with the sign for 24 hour fitness. We crossed the street and headed back from there.
Basically, it was slow rising 4.25 mile uphill run, followed by 4.25 miles headed downhill. When we got to the 24 hour fitness sign, we were at 51 minutes and some change. It took us 49 minutes and some change to get back. Nice negative split run. Kimber and I were on pace the whole time, while Patsy and Amy went off ahead, but we later caught up to them. There was one other lady that took off, and one other guy there that we caught up with, but he must’ve short cutted because we never saw him on the return leg. The run felt great, have I mentioned that? After the run, Patsy and I went for a soak in Barton Springs. While we were there, Ali came in and joined us. She’d done the 12.5 mile walk with the walkers group, although she originally thought she was only doing 8.5 miles. Next week, the 20k benchmark.
Today’s Run’s stats:
Terrain: Cement Sidewalk
Distance: 8.5 miles
Pace: 11:45 min/mile
Total time: 1:41:14
Noteworthy: Kimber and I were on pace the whole time. We helped each other through the hard parts. Running in a group or with a partner makes the run go a lot better. Also, staying on pace rules. We nailed the pace, have I mentioned that?

exactly! pacers are awesome – and your pace is about the same as mine, so you can pace me anytime! : )
sweet!
