This past Sunday, I went hashing. It was an anti-valentine’s day hash run and it was down at the barton creek greenbelt. Here’s the gps generated map of trail:
I had a great time, and more importantly, I felt good while running out there. In case you’re not familiar with a hash run, it’s basically a run where you follow a path marked (usually in flour) through the woods, aka “shiggy.” Before the we set off in the woods, we have something called “chalk talk” where we’re told about the markings on trail.
After chalk talk, we head off into the shiggy…
More shiggy…
And more shiggy:
And then, in a clearing, there’s beer:
After trail is over, at the on-in, there’s food, beer and merriment…
But, there’s also tea and other drinks.
All in all, it was a great day for a run in the woods. I had a great time hanging out with my hashing buddies. My favorite part was discovering a new part to an old familiar trail. I can’t wait to go back out to the Barton Creek Greenbelt to run this new part of trail again.
