Long Loop Run At Purgatory Creek

My last outing at Purgatory Creek, was a 2.19 mile outing that I’m going to call the “long loop run” course. It was a single loop outing, starting from the Hunter Rd and Wonder World Drive trail head, over into the Prospect park section and back again.

I must say, that I felt much better than I did during that run in Rockwall. To date, those 2 miles felt really long and I felt super sluggish. Not so on this outing.

This outing was fun and even though the ground was wet and there were a lot leaves on the ground, I had a great time.

On a slightly off topic note, I ran without music because earlier in the day, I some how managed to drop my iPhone headset into my coffee cup. Not all was lost with the headset, since I soaked up the coffee with a paper towel and then let the headset sit for about 8 hours until it was dry. When I tested it out, it was working again, so yay me.

I don’t know if part of the reason that I enjoyed the run was because I didn’t have music with me. It was really quiet when I was out there, since the wet trees and the wet, dead leaves on the ground acted as sound deadening. Not having music let me “enjoy the silence” of the woods and made for a very relaxing time.

Here’s the route that I followed:
