Guadalupe Mountains Trail Running

My buddy Gordon Montgomery posted some pictures from his camping/trail running trip to the Guadalupe Mountains in West Texas. I don’t think that I’ll ever have the opportunity to go out there and do this type of trail running. I’m not much of a primitive camper, among other things.

Regardless, Gordon gave me permission to post and share some of his pictures here with you. Gordon said that one of the days that he and his group was out there, they ran 30 miles around the trails.

I’m so jealous, it’s not even funny.

I asked Gordon if the trails were well marked, because I was thinking that maybe you’d need a guide or someone familiar with the trails to go out there with you to keep you from getting lost, but Gordon said the trails were well marked and laid out.

In some of the pictures, it looks like you can see the trail snaking its way up and around the mountains. If you’re interested in going out there and running around those trails, check out the Guadalupe Mountains National Park hiking information web page for more information on the trails etc.
