Yesterday, I swam in the Cap 2k. A 2 km “downhill” swim in townlake. It was a gray, overcast day and the water was very murky thanks to the recent rains. Despite this, it was a great time. We had to swim out about 300 yards to the start point, which worked well as a warm up. From there, we zig zagged our way down from Red Bud Isle, past the head of the trail under the Mopac footbridge and out of the water at the Texas rowing dock.
I finshed 34th overall, same as last year, and my time was 34 minutes and some change, prolly the same as last year, I’ll have to check. No snakes, no fish, no nothing spotted this time around in the water, prolly due to the murkiness.
Some guy after the race was telling me about an Xterra challenge event coming up in 2 weeks at Canyon Lake. I’m thinking about entering it, eventhough I have 0 hours on the bike and virtually 0 hours on trail. We’ll see how it goes.
