Yep, I fell off the wagon of regular exercise. These last 2 weeks, I’ve only exercised 3 times. I have good excuses for it, but ultimately, they are just excuses. I am not, however, going to get down on myself, or let myself get all depressed about it.
The times that I did go to workout felt great. I felt stronger, which makes me think that maybe I needed to take a short break to let my body catch up.
I ran this week at Purgatory, and it felt great. When I did Body Pump, it hurt like crazy, but it too felt great.
I guess, what I’m trying to say is this: even though I’ve had a couple of off weeks, I’m not going to let that get me down. How does that old saying go? If you get knocked down 7 times, make sure you get up 8 or something like that.
Right?
This little graphic pretty much sums up my feelings about this:

Meaning, onwards we go and at light speed no less.

I’ve experienced the same thing… times when my body needed a break. But the key is to make sure you get back at it once you have recovered. You must keep on keeping on. Otherwise, you will loose the benefit of all the hard work you have put in thus far.
To keep myself motivated I sign up for races and then I train specifically for each race. Without a specific training plan with exact miles I plan to run each week it is really easy to skip a run, and then two, and then three… and eventually I’m no longer running. Can’t do that.
So plan out your runs and then stick to the plan.
You can do it!!!
That’s great advice!
Thank you!
