Long run this morning

I’m glad I gave my ankle the rest of last week off. It did sting a little bit during the hash run, but it was in pretty good shape despite it all. When I was out running yesterday morning, I didn’t get a single peep of protest from it. Things are almost back to normal.

Yesteday’s run, started down the powerline loop, across the now dry dam and up to overlook. From there, I figured I could run down to twin falls, then maybe to mopac or 360 and back up HOL. Well, I somehow managed to get lost back there, again. But, on the plus side, I figured out that a lot of the trails loop back and join each other at some point. Brown eye was right about the best way to get to know the trails back there is to get lost and run them.

Anyway, there was a funny moment, I was singing “Wild, wild west” while I was going around an uphill turn and startled the living daylights out of a mountain biker. I was covered in sweat and dirt, bleeding from one knee, my arms and my chest (where a horsefly bit me). I guess he thought he was a badass or something and seeing me in such a condition, and singing threw him for a loop.

I was out there for an hour and 48 minutes, covered about 8 miles, so for the week, I’m at 13.5 miles. A little over halfway to goal.
