World’s problems are caused by fat people

You read the title right.
According to a report published in the BBC, obese people are responsible for the energy shortages, the food shortages, etc. on a global scale. No pun intended.

You see, the thing is, fat people eat more than skinny people do. In fact, they eat 25% more than skinny people. This of course puts pressure on producers to make more food, which means that they use more energy, which means that more energy is used for food production and since energy is a scarce commodity, well, there you have it.
So, the next time you go to the gas station, don’t think that gas is $4 a gallon because of a flawed energy policy, rising global demands thanks to rising global industrialization, or price gouging by big oil companies. Don’t try to think about all the terrorist regimes that are getting all of our money or about how much your car’s fuel efficiency sucks, and how badly the gummint messed up the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) mandates etc, etc, etc.
The reason gas is $4 a gallon, is because of fat people and all their over eating.
That article really chaps my hide. I’m not some fancy doctor or anything remotely like that, but I bet that fat people are not to blame for the energy crisis. I can almost assure you, that increased global demand for fuel, urban sprawl, rising populations, with rising food demands, that little war in the middle east among other things are more likely culprits for the rise in fuel prices.
Just goes to show, you don’t have to be smart to be a doctor. Apparently, you just need to able to write grant proposals.
