San Antonio Marathon Training

Well, I was over on the information page for the SA Marathon, and noticed that they have free online training sponsored by New Balance. Now, I’m a Brooks man myself, but I do likes me some free training. I signed up as a beginner runner for the training.

We’ll see how it goes.

The rego fees don’t go up again until 8/31 and there’s a 12 mile run scheduled for 8/30. I figure, if I can finish the 12 mile run in good shape, I’ll register for the full. If I’m dying, then I may only go for the half. Of course, I have to actually make the time to follow the training regimen, etc.

Here we go again.

After the 2005 Austin Marathon, I said that I would not run another road marathon since I get so bored running on roads. The thing is, I need a goal to reach or else I won’t go anywhere.

I live too far away from the good trails to make it out and run them on a regular basis. If I have a goal in mind, I’ll probably hit the trails more often since I’ll have an excuse.
