Trail Running Texas Style At Purgatory Creek

I didn’t have a chance to run while I was in California this past week, so it had been a week since my last “official” run. It’s not that I was completely sedentary or anything like that. While in San Francisco, we easily walked about 3 miles while sight seeing etc. I just didn’t turn on my distance tracker since I wasn’t really exercising.

All that is done with, since I’m now back in the Texas heat and trail running Texas style with my neck cooler, head band, staying in the shade as much as possible and carrying tons of water with me.

At the start of my run, the temperature was 104F. When I was done, the temperature had dropped down to 103F. So yeah, it was hot.

I did 2.49 miles, on the western loop of the bat wing as I’m going to start calling it.

My legs were super sore from the Body Pump workout that I did the night before. I bumped up all of my leg weights, which is what contributed to my leg soreness. I stretched out a bit both right after the run and at home in the A/C, but I’m still sore as I write this the day after my run.

Despite the heat, the soreness, and the scorching sun, it was a pleasant outing. I may even go out there again today.
