The greenbelt the wrong way

28 June 2006 No Comment

This afternoon, after my third interview, I went out to the greenbelt. I grabbed Lesley and had her come join me. We ran from the 360 access of the greenbelt and headed downstream towards Barton Springs pool. We ran out to the Spyglass entrance and back. A total of 5.5 miles in an hour and 10 minutes.

It was getting dark towards the end of the run, so we didn’t get to explore a couple of trails that looked interesting, but it was all good. We stopped at Spyglass and stretched for a bit and on the way back, we added a bit to add the extra .5 mile so it was good. Lesley tried out her camelback for the first time, and she liked it. I was telling her that no matter how long the run, she should always bring water.

Oh yeah, a funny thing that happened today, Lesley was in front of me as we were running past some rock climbers. One of them noticed her and tapped the other one on the shoulder, so homeboy looks and somehow loses his grip on the rock and slips down a bit. Lesley was oblivious to the whole thing but I laughed. The dude that slipped noticed me laughing and smiled as did the first guy that noticed her. I thought it was funny.
