Before you say anything about it Brownie, let me just say that I had all intentions of going on the run, I just overslept since I went out last night. It’s not that the run or route sucked or anything like that, I just didn’t do it. I didn’t make it out to the start at 7 like I wanted, but I did make it out there, just it was 12:30ish maybe 1 PM. I took a look at the first hill, and decided that I didn’t feel like running on pavement/ cement so I got back in my car and headed out to Hill of Life.
I ran the powerline loop, or at least I started out on it, then somehow lost it and ended up at the dam again. I was trying to avoid going through there, but I guess there’s no way around it. I’m sure there’s a way around this dam, I just haven’t found it yet. Anyway, I crossed the dam and made my up to overlook, then ran along the trails on that side of the mountain. I use the term “mountain” loosely here, since it’s more of a big hill, but I digress. I ran along there and made my way down to, I think it was twin falls which is where I crossed over and kept going down trail towards mopac. This is about the point where I bonked out hard. I had food with me, so it wasn’t too bad after a bit, but that’s when I remembered that I hadn’t eaten anything all day.
Mental note: make sure you eat breakfast or a light lunch if you plan on running in the early afternoon.
I had a great time out there today, although hill of life kicked my ass since I was so low on energy. Lots of cute girls out there today, not sure if it was cuz it’s a holiday or what, but lots of “hey, how you doins?” were exchanged today. I even helped a family of 3 (mom, dad and daughter) find some water to swim in. All in all a great way to spend 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon, eventhough I wanted to spend 3-4 hours.

Good job getting out there, even if it wasn’t the run you intended.
Quit trying to blame all your problems on booze!
I don’t blame you! I’d choose the greenbelt anyday… You can’t avoid that dam as far as I know- I go backward sometime and cross at sculpture falls then turn around if I don’t want to run the whole thing…
