Late run

I got stuck at work late last night talking to a client and didn’t get a chance to get out to run until late in the day. So, semi-inspired by Catra and her night run, I figured, what the heck, and took off for a late run through the woods near my apartment.

I felt great. I went all the way down to Mopac and back. Other than having to walk across the bridge, I didn’t take a walk break. Of note during this run, was that I jumped over the logs.

There are these 2 logs that are laying pretty much directly across the trail. In the beginning of my ultra-running saga, I’d always stop and step over these logs, then I’d walk for a bit, then I’d start to run again, but only after I caught my breath. Last night, I just jumped over them and didn’t even break stride. I’ve been just jumping over them for a couple of weeks, but last night was when I actually noticed it. Weird how on some runs you’re not even aware that you’re doing things that you used to not be able to do, and on other days you’re totally aware of what you’re doing.
