Stupid ankle is at it again

I went out to HOL yesterday. My ankle was feeling way better, so I figured what the heck and went out there for a run. Started down the powerline loop and everything was fine, until I started all the little ups and downs. That’s when the dang on ankle started cramping up again.

On the plus side, I know it’s a persistent cramp and not a twisted ankle. On the down side, if it’s something soft tissue that’s busted in there and that’s why it’s cramping, who knows what it will do to my training. I think my body may be trying to wuss out on me and get me to not do the 100k in January. My body could also be telling me to eat something other than hotdogs wrapped in a tortilla with cheese. I dunno if I should listen to it or not. I figure, I should still be able to do the 50k and the 50 miler, but I guess I can do a 100k later in the year.

I dunno what to do now.

I think I’m going to need to take a couple of days off, to let the ankle rest and cure itself and then take it from there. I’m also going to start eating a more balanced diet. At least it happened far enough away from the races that I can still recover the training time, but we’ll see.
