Yeah, I know, lame about the run numbers. Anyway, I went out on the loop around the hood today. I ran it counter clockwise, which somehow made it seem like it was shorter. Maybe I’m just in better shape so it seems to be shorter, but in any case it went by fairly quickly. I felt great being out there in the drizzle this morning and my feet are so far OK. I had some plantar fascia issues yesterday and on Saturday but I think I nipped them in the bud by icing my foot and taking some ibuprofen to keep the swelling down. We’ll see how today goes with being at work and having to wear these work shoes.
On a different note, I feel a lot better that I have taken the monkey off my back of training for an ultra. I think a 30k is plenty, given my weight etc. Something that I find somewhat amusing, is that so far this year, I’ve run 23.5 miles, which is less than what Brownie does in a single training run. That issue right there put it in perspective for me as far as my chances for completing an ultra. Enough for now, gotta get back to work.
