I ran today for the first time in almost 3 months.  Well, if you can call it running since it was on a treadmill. In any case, I’m just happy that I was able to run today and had no pain in my foot.

I’m very happy.

My stretching and cross training seems to have paid off. I saw some pictures of myself today, and quite frankly, I’m shocked. I need to do something about this state that I’m in. Maybe I need to commit to running Sunmart, and then maybe running Bandera.

I started training to run a marathon without actually running.

That’s the beauty of cross training and those dang elliptical machines.  There’s no real substitute for mileage out on the street though.

Have I mentioned that I hate road running?

Let’s see how my plantar fascia holds up.  Push come to shove, I’ll alter the schedule and do a half in San Antonio, then 25k in Sunmart and 50k in Bandera.  That may be the more sensible approach to this whole getting back in shape thing.
