On Monday night, I made it out to the Barton Creek Greenbelt, aka BCG for a rare evening run. It was a very pleasant day, with a nice temperature of about 90 degrees.
I gotta tellya, I love running in the BCG. Monday, was no exception.
There were a bunch of bikers out there, so it was a bit treacherous at times, but it was fun all the way around. From the trail head at 360 and Mopac, I made my way north towards Barton Springs pool. I went past the Gus Fruh access to the end of what I think is called “the new wall,” or something along those lines. Then I turned back.
The thing that I really enjoyed about this run, is that I negative split the run. I love negative splits. The negative split was unintentional, but I’ll take it any way I can get it. The other workouts this week, I did in the gym, on the treadmill, or walking during my lunch hour.
I think that this weekend I may go from Barton Springs pool, out to Spyglass, or maybe Gus Fruh while my youngling rides the bike next to me. After that run, we’ll go hop in the Barton Springs pool to cool off. That sounds like a good plan for the day to me.
