Running at Purgatory

6 March 2009 No Comment

I went running at the Purgatory Park in San Marcos yesterday. It was awesome.

I took a bunch of pictures with my phone which I hope to be able to link to this post here a little bit, I just need to figure out if I want to do a slideshow or if I just want to post the pictures out right.

The weather was just great.  I really was not planning on running I was really just planning on walking for a few minutes and seeing how it went. I couldn’t help but start to run. After the fiasco of the blanco greenbelt shoals of the day before I was determined to find a place where I could actually walk at least.

Like I mentioned, I started off with a walk, but then started running. I walked along the path that was packed dirt and gravel and as soon as that path ended was when I started running. There were lots of small trails that went off into the trees and over into the hills, so there is a lot of potential for exploring new territory while I’m out here in the future.

I don’t know how long I’ll be able to run in this particular park before I get bored of it but it seems like there’s a lot to do. On my way back to the car and, I saw two girls coming up into the hills and they were wearing bathing suit tops, which makes me think that there might be a swimming hole around there somewhere.

We’ll see how it all shakes out.

Today my legs are sore, but it’s that good sore that comes from exercising.

I love that sore.

There are more pictures, I just don’t feel like posting them right now.
