I'm curious to find out if it's poor Google Map skillz or a crappy iPhone app. I've also mapped out runs with Google Maps and they match pretty closely with my Forerunner. Since you usually seem to know what you're doing on computers I'm guessing your GM skillz are OK and the iPhone or app is crap--maybe its losing GPS signal and taking shortcuts?
