I originally wanted to get out to hill of life and run it in the morning. I wanted to watch the sunrise while I was out on trail and I wanted to try and get a picture of the sunrise.
Alas, it wasn’t so. I did go out to hill of life, but not until the end of the day.
It was 7:30 pm when I got out there. Sunset was at 8:36 pm, so I gave myself the goal of finishing my run before the it got dark.
I finished before the sun went down, if only by 3 minutes.
This time, the gps on the phone did not ruin my run. It actually confirmed what I had guesstimated as the distance. There were a couple of spots where the gps lost signal, but even with that, the total was close enough for government work. Thank you gps for not ruining this run for me.
There were a bunch of people out there drinking beer at the falls, but fortunatlely they were all picking up after themselves which was awesome.
Getting back to the run, I need to spend more time on trail. Running in the flatlands around my neighborhood is ok for building endurance for running on flatlands, but it does nothing for building endurance for running on hilly trails.
I also need to spend more time on trail because I get this weird sense of calm when I’m out on trail. I love that.
