You know, today has been a day full of Dickens quotes for me. Earlier today, I had opportunity to have someone quote “Tale of Two Cities” to me. The specific quote was “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times”, which I guess sums up everything about me right now.
The question I need to posit, is that I was presented with an opportunity to coach one of the running groups that I’m in. They need someone to be the coach for the 11:45 minute milers for Austin Fit, and I’m seriously considering doing it. It’ll make me have to finish the season, plus I’ll get a cool shirt, plus I’ll get good fodder for the blog, plus I’ll have to be in shape and get my runs in. On the minus side, it is a huge commitment since people will be counting on me to be there and be on the ball every Saturday morning at 7:15. I’ll also need to be able to run at that pace and be the official pace setter for the group.
The Dickens quote that comes to mind about this is “some people are born to greatness, others have greatness thrust upon them.” Not that either case is true for me, or applicable for that matter, but that’s the quote that comes to mind. What do y’all think, should I or should I not?

That makes me think of the immortal words of fish who said, “Narcoleptic Fuck!” Seriously though, you should do it, some responsibility would be good for you.
