New Running Trail in San Marcos,TX

4 August 2009 No Comment

A couple of weeks ago, I got a tip about a running trail out behind Aquarena Springs in San Marcos, TX. Today, I finally went out to try to find the trail head and also to run on the trail.

I was not disappointed with the trail. It did take me a little bit to find the trail head. You have to go past behind a construction site to find the trail head, but once you’re on it, you’re on it.

It’s a nice little trail, well shaded with lots of ups and downs, lots of animal footprints, lots o deer and I even saw a couple of snake tracks. I think if I stay on the trail and avoid picking up any rocks I should be OK.

There were lots of different footpaths that headed off from the main trail, so there is lots to explore. There are also a lot of dry creek beds that seem to go on for a nice bit.

Bottom line, it was a fun trail and I can’t wait to get out there again.
