Kenpo X from P90X

29 September 2009 No Comment

OK, so it’s been a couple of days since my last P90X post so I thought I’d make another one.  I think my mind is playing tricks on me. I’ll explain this in a minute, but first the Kenpo X.

I’m a lover not a fighter, by just about any definition. I’m also a fairly big person so a lot of people avoid getting in fights with me thinking that I can hit hard. Well, I can’t hit at all and I’ve never been trained to hit.

I realize that the purpose of the Kenpo X is not to teach me how to fight, but rather to incorporate some of the more aerobic and muscle intense moves of the Kenpo discipline into the fitness routine.

I have to say, that in addition to the aerobic benefits of working out, I have also learned how to throw a punch from the videos. I’m not saying that I can take on 5 punks in a dark alley and leave them writhing in pain or anything like that, but I can say that I could at least get one punch off before they all beat me up.

Maybe that doesn’t sound as good as I thought it would, but it’s true.

On to the part about my mind playing tricks on me. My clothes are fitting looser. Not only that, but after only a week and a couple of days of following the videos I’m already feeling better and have greater range of motion when doing some of the yoga poses like “running pose” or “warrior 1,” “warrior 2″ and so on.

What can I say, the stuff works.

I think these videos will help me out with running and with my triathlon goals.
