Another good swim workout. The downside, is that just as I’m getting in shape, I have to take a break from swimming due to training at the new job. C’est la vie. On the plus side, I went faster today than I’ve been in a long time. I went a 1:04 on a 100 free, which may be a PR for the last 2 years. All in all, I was happy with the swim today.

OK, here is a quick catchup post. I’ve not been running nearly as much as I should. I’ve been swimming almost as much as I should, but not quite enough. I’m getting in better shape as a swimmer, but as we all know, running is what makes you lose weight, not swimming. So, I’ve not lost any weight, but I also have not gained any. I got up this morning and took a quick run around the hood. I only wanted to be out for 30 minutes or so since I was still sore from Thursday’s run. It was a bit cool, drizzly and windy, which is my favorite kind of weather to run in. I had a good time eventhough for some reason I was still sore. I got to practice late, again. I dunno why but I can’t seem to make it to practice on time anymore. In any case, I saw a bunch of people from the 7:30 practice leaving and they all said “have a good swim” which is code for “today’s workout is hard”. I was still fatigued from yesterday’s run, and I almost didn’t make it to practice, so a hard swim was not something I was looking forward to. Alas, it turned out OK. I think …

The swim today was great. Bright sunny day, light breeze and a good workout. My stroke felt nice and smooth. I got to demo my fly again which I always enjoy.
Stats:Total distance: 3000Interesting set: 150, 100, 75, 50, 25 swim free followed by 4×25 stroke. The whole set was done 4 times through.Noteworthy: the interval was a bit slow, but it was still a good workout once everything was said and done.
