I almost missed my run this morning. When I got to the gathering place, all the speeches were done with and the different color groups were gathered and were already leaving to go on their runs. Saturday’s run was a quick 6 mile jaunt around the hike and bike trail. We went up the Riverside hill, over to the dam, across the damn and then back again. The official route had us going to Congress and across, but I being the over achieving wanker that I am, ran to Lamar over and then back to the beginning. Yeah, I know I’m a wanker. I went out to Hill of life yesterday for my run. Instead of going down the power line loop, I started down the hill and veered off on one of the side trails. I eventually picked up powerline and continued making my way down to the dam, across and then up the hill on the other side. I felt pretty good once I warmed up.

Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in. I met up with my former running partner at the Greenbelt access at 360 and Mopac. Much to my chagrin, the damn trail was closed because of the rains. It’d been raining most of the day yesterday and a lot of the day before, so the city closed the trail. Well, I did it again. I volunteered to coach a running group for the upcoming Motorola, I mean Freescale, I mean the ATT Austin Marathon. This Saturday morning, I got up and met up with the group. I ended up running with the 11:15 group, which is a bit fast for me, but interestingly enough, I did just fine with them. Well, mostly fine.
