This morning, I got up at 5:30 and went to the pool. I was in the pool by 6:00 and swimming away. The whole time I was in the water, I kept thinking about how I should be running since I’m trying to do an ultra run, not an ultra swim. Anyway, I had a good swim but now I’m really, really sleepy.

I swam again tonight. I did 1450 yards in about 30 minutes or so. I wasted a bunch of time getting my goggles fixed, so I didn’t get to swim as much as I wanted to but it was all good. I think I’m going to take tomorrow off from swimming and maybe just run or something. Dunno, we’ll see.

I just checked the calendar, and it appears that if I were to stick to my 29 week training schedule, the races that fall around that time are the Leadville 100 and the Pikes Peak ascent and marathon. I doubt that I’ll be doing Leadville, and the Pikes Peak races seem hard to get in on, so I don’t know that either of those races is an option.
Expanding the look, it seems like these races might work:

This morning, I went out to run loop 1 around the ‘hood. I got up on time but still managed to leave the house late because I wanted to check my email before heading out. I don’t understand why I had the need to do that, but there you have it.

Tonight, we went to the Y after dinner. I swam, Chelle ran on the hamster trail and L’il D played in the pool while we did both. I swam 1300 yards and felt much, much better than on Saturday. I was thinking about that as I was puching away from the wall during one of my sets.
