This is cool, these folks are uploading video as they get it along the course. Seeing the video makes me want to run this race even more.  I’ll get there one day.

On the minus side, it goes to show that you can’t really go anywhere to get away from technology anymore.

Well, today, a bunch of crazy trail runners will embark on the Hard Rock 100 mile race.
Here’s a synopsis of the mountains that they’ll traverse on the course:
Silverton – Sherman (Lake City) – Ouray – Telluride – Ophir – Silverton, 100 miles, 33,000′ total elevation gain, 11,186′ average elevation, low point 7,680′ at Ouray, high point 14,048′ at Handies Peak.

This article came to my attention courtesy of one of my friends over on Facebook.  I’d not heard of this ultra runner named Diane Van Deren, but I’ll be following her progress at Hard Rock over the weekend.
Basically, she had a labectomy, where they removed a part of her brain in order to help her with her seizures. On a side note, I had no idea that running helped people with their seizures, but I digress.

I had some Chinese food for lunch the other day. I think I ate about half my body weight during that engorgement session.
Seriously, I think I may have eaten too much.
The whole time I was there, I kept wondering if the workers there secretly hated me. Something else, have you ever noticed that some restaurant’s customers are rather portly, while other restaurant’s customers aren’t?

Gotta love it when your church friends send you that video.

Hill of life 4 th of July run

I originally wanted to get out to hill of life and run it in the morning. I wanted to watch the sunrise while I was out on trail and I wanted to try and get a picture of the sunrise.
Alas, it wasn’t so. I did go out to hill of life, but not until the end of the day.

It was 7:30 pm when I got out there. Sunset was at 8:36 pm, so I gave myself the goal of finishing my run before the it got dark.
