Congratulations on a great San Antonio Marathon!

My friends Mike, Bridget and pastor Zak ran the San Antonio Marathon. I talked to Mike yesterday when he came by to pick up his dog, and from his report, it seems like it was a fun race.
Mike said the course was very flat, save for the steep hill right at the end. He also mentioned that the start was chaotic from the AT&T Center, and that the race started while some runners were still on the shuttle busses.
He also mentioned that the end was at the Alamodome, and to get to where the shuttles were to take you back to the AT&T Center (where his car was parked) you had to go down some steep stairs and then up some steep stairs to actually get to the busses. He said he almost fell back while he was going up the stairs.
It seems cruel and really dumb for the organizers to make people that just ran a marathon have to maneuver flights of stairs. Seems like thats something that they need to work out in the future.
All in all, Mike was happy with the race, his wife Bridget was a little disappointed with her time, and Zak appears to just be on cloud 9. Zak said he was going o run a couple of miles today, which leads me to believe that perhaps he didn’t exert enough effort durnig the race. I keed.
Congratulations to all the finishers!
