Thanks to my friend Brownie who linked to this video from his blog.  This is a great video that pretty much shows why I enjoy trail running:

Road running is OK, but really my heart is on trails like the ones in the video. If you’re not a trail runner, or a runner at all, that video may be boring to you, but to us trail geeks, it’s an awesome video

My friends Mike, Bridget and pastor Zak ran the San Antonio Marathon.  I talked to Mike yesterday when he came by to pick up his dog, and from his report, it seems like it was a fun race.

I’m very happy.
My stretching and cross training seems to have paid off. I saw some pictures of myself today, and quite frankly, I’m shocked. I need to do something about this state that I’m in. Maybe I need to commit to …

Well, I was over on the information page for the SA Marathon, and noticed that they have free online training sponsored by New Balance. Now, I’m a Brooks man myself, but I do likes me some free training. I signed up as a beginner runner for the training.
We’ll see how it goes.

The rego fees don’t go up again until 8/31 and there’s a 12 mile run scheduled for 8/30. I figure, if I can finish the 12 mile run in good shape, I’ll register for …
